Show us Your Life- my friend Katey

I just started reading Kelly’s Korner Blog a couple weeks ago, and decided to participate in this week’s edition of “Show us Your Life.” She has made her own “match.com” for all the great singles out there that have bloggers trying to set them up. She asked her readers to sign up any single guys they knew that would be consider a “good catch” and she also allowed for single ladies to sign up too. I think this is so cool, and even if you don’t find a match you could still begin a new friendship.

I had two people in mind for this, but I knew one of them would be completely against the idea. But my amazing friend Katey agreed (after I begged) to let me post a little bit about her on here. She is a great girl and friend, and any guy would be more then lucky to take her out! With that said, here is more about Katey…

The beautiful Katey. =)

Katey is a senior Heath Information Management student at Arkansas Tech University. She plans on continue school to get her masters and either teach or work in electronic heath record sales.

She is 25 years old and grew up in Central Arkansas. Katey and I grew up in the same hometown, but since she was a few years older then me we weren’t really friends. Until, we ended up being neighbors in our apartment complex last year and even had a class together. Over the past year we have become more than good friends and she is just amazing!

Katey is a down-to-earth, southern girl who can get along with everyone. Sometimes she will dress up for a night on the town, but most of the time she loves being in comfy clothes and outdoors doing things like going fishing, 4-wheeling, running, working out or playing on the lake. She loves going places whether it’s a two hour road trip or hopping on a plane to somewhere. If she had to pick the spot, it would either be the beach or snow skiing.

Katey and I in Mexico this past spring break.

In high school she a cheerleader and a softball and volleyball player. Even though she doesn’t play anymore, she still loves the sports and would be down for a game in the back yard. Football and baseball are her two favorite sports to watch. Although she is a Tech student, she is probably the biggest fan of the A-State Football team. It is a family thing.

Which brings me to another great thing about her, she LOVES spending time with her family. She was raised by a wonderful, loving and supportive family. She was very involved in her church growing up and still attends regularly. She has a big brother, and is an aunt to two beautiful girls who are a big part of her life. She will make a great wife and mother one day. And she can COOK! We would always plan to cook, which meant Katey cooked and I supervised, so trust me I know.

Getting kisses from her niece.

These are just a few of the things I can tell you about Katey. She is great and I would love for anyone to meet her! So leave me a comment and a way to contact you!

  5. I originally lived in England when I first came into the world. Then after my first year of living in a tiny town called Rustington. My parent’s heart became polarized for missions by wanting to go live in the war fighting country, Israel. We lived there for four years during the Gulf War. These years of my life I spent many night sealing up my bedroom with my family fearing the gas bomb attacks. During this horrific trembling terrifying time, my parents would put my baby sister in a plastic box to keep her safe, while the rest of my family wore gas masks. Crazy, eh? Then after leaving there, my family moved back to Queen's country. Where I lived there all my life, until a new revelation came to me.

I was on a mission's trip to Belfast, Northern Ireland. While we were there doing VBS stuff, we would visit the scenic parts- sweet times! Then the last night we were there, we did a worship time. I was there crying my eyes out wondering where God wanted me to spend the rest of my life. Where would be my mission field? I know this might sound charismatic, but I felt God voicing to me to go to the U.S. of A. During the next coming months God arranged everything. This 14yr old boy's parents became content on the idea of me leaving to go to live with his Aunt and Uncle. The money came in, and before I knew it I was on my first flight alone to the U.S. of A to see what God had in mind.

During my time in the states, God revolutionized my life. I came to know him as my savior, friend, and redeemer. God totally rocked my life, and I appreciated that, and still do. I learned more about sanctification, and now try my best to be a Christian. I want to be a friend to every lost person I meet, and not blow them away with frivolous ridiculous legalism. Instead I try to show people God's love in practical ways.

I attended Ozark Christian College to be the rockin' awesome Youth Pastor God wants me to be. You see, there are too many youth ministers our there with horrible counseling skills. In addition, there are too many counselors out there with horrible theology. Therefore I want to be the hybrid of the counselor and youth minister.

Therefore i am continuing my education at John Brown University. I want to be educated in counseling, and help the broken. I have many goals in life, i want to travel, be a great husband, and serve as a loving father to my children.

I think Katey would be a great person to get to know. One of my lead pastor's wife, mention this person to me, so i thought "what to have to lose? I might as well put myself out there." I would love to have the opportunity to get to know here as i live in NWA area. If she/you have any further questions, send me a message on facebook... my name is Aaron Levy. God Bless, and hope to hear from you soon.

  7. I attended Ozark Christian College in Joplin, MO to be the rockin' awesome Youth Pastor I can be. You see, there are too many youth ministers our there with horrible counseling skills. In addition, there are too many counselors out there with horrible theology. Therefore I want to be the hybrid of the counselor and youth minister.

In addition, my decided to further my education by going to John Brown University to do their graduate counseling program. I can't wait to start my own practice, and help people with their problems, and create success over addiction, marital problems, and finding Christ as their success.

I am in NWA area, maybe Katey will give me a chance to show her what a real gentlemen does on a great date. If you/she have any further questions, you can find me on facebook. Thanks
