Wedding Season

I never really understood the saying "Missing in Action" but I know that is what I have been for the past couple of weeks. School is in full swing! I thought having class only on Tuesday and Thursday would give me a bit of a break, but this has been my busiest semester yet. Then adding work on top of it keeps me going around the clock. But who wants to read about that boring stuff when it is wedding season!

I am not sure if it's really wedding season but it has been for me. Not that I am getting married now {or anytime in the near future} but it seems EVERYONE I know is getting married. I had the pleasure of being in my one of my best friend's wedding this past weekend. It was beautiful, and probably had the largest wedding party ever. I had a great weekend and got to catch up with all of my closet friends from high school. After being in two weddings-I have come to these conclusions:

Weddings make everyone happy.
They are much more tiring and stressful then you think. {And i haven't planned one yet!!}
They bring old and new friends together.
There will always be an awkward moment whether at the reception, rehearsal dinner or during the wedding.
There is always great food.
Someone always misplaces something important, like the rings.
I am going to cry at every wedding I attend. { So far I am 3 for 3.}

This coming up weekend I will be attending another wedding. I will keep you posted on how it goes! For now I am going to leave you with a few photos from the past weekend.

One week down

I have officially completed the first week of my senior year of college. It is crazy to think how fast the past three years have gone by and how fast this year will go by also. I managed to only have class on Tuesday and Thursday this fall semester. I thought I would really enjoy that, but I have had so much free time lately I don't know what to do with myself. Once school picks up I am sure I will need all the free time I can get. I am excited about my classes because I will actually get to do real PR work this semester. Can't wait for that!

I haven't done much since I have been back in Russellville except for spend way to much money, and watch season 1 and 2 of Laguna Beach. Laguna Beach was one of the most popular shows on MTV, or TV in general, when I was in high school. I haven't got my cable hooked up yet so I have been watching the old seasons. Its hilarious going to back to watch them and see how much the people on the show have changed over the years. And also how much my entertainment choices have changed. I once thought the show was so dramatic, but I think it was because I was in high school and could relate. Now it is fun to laugh at how dumb all the drama was. I will say that Laguna Beach beats Jersey Shore any day. I just can't seem to get into that show!

I am still in the process of getting my apartment all decorated. I will definitely be posting pics as soon as its all done. It's going to be super cute. I don't really have much to say today. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. =)

this crazy beautiful life

This last month of summer has gone by so fast. Since I had absolutly no time to blog I am going to update you with a brief list of everything that has happened to me this August...

I turned 21 on August 1st. {And YES, I feel older}
My friend Justin returned to California. {his lovely bride will be going soon... }
I took a roadtrip to St. Louis for the Cards and Cubs game. {plus some shopping}
I got my tonsils removed. {i must be super tough because it wasnt that bad...}
I am offically moved into my OWN apartment. {this makes me feel even older}
I had a LONG but much needed coffee date with Chelsea, Kate and Gentry. {they are the best}
Tomorrow, I will step into my first class as a senior in college. {weird}

I am really looking forward to this school year and spending my last year with the people that have made my college experience more than I could ask for. I would probably still be curled up in my dorm room watching Boy Meets World and crying because I missed home if it wasn't for these special people.

Now that I am all settled in I plan to get back to my regular blogging schedule. I can't wait to tell you all about my senior year!!

Summertime Fun

I stole this idea from my friend Chelsea. She sent me a ball like this in the mail for my 19th birthday. I walked into the post office to pick up my "package" and was handed a huge bouncy ball. I am sure it was the talk of the post office. One of my friends has been working at Pine Cove Timbers Camp in Tyler, Texas all summer. I have got to talk to him a couple of times on his days off, but I decided to send him something to make him laugh when he starts missing home. I wrote silly laffy taffy jokes (which are my favorite) all over the ball, and drew pictures. I wish I could see the look on his face when he get this! After you read this, say a little prayer for Richard to have a great few last weeks.

This past weekend was very eventful. We had Jackie's bachelorette party on Saturday night, and Justin also got home on Saturday! It was nice spending time with all the girls on Saturday and not having to worry about what the boys were up to. I got to see Justin today for the first time since he has been back! It was so nice to see him, and I am glad we will all get to hang out for the next few weeks until they move back to California.

Me and the bride-to-be!

Monday night I celebrated my best friend Ashley's 21st birthday. We went to dinner with her mom at The Villa, which is a delicious Italian restaurant in Little Rock. Then we did a little shopping at Old Navy. The funniest thing happened. Ashley discovered this new "beauty mark" when she got home from work. She swore up and down that it was dirt but the three of us tried and tired to get it off. So we came to the conclusion it was a new freckle/beauty mark. This morning at work I got a text message from Ashley saying her beauty was DIRT!! It wiped right off this morning. I died laughing! HA!

Twenty One!

I had an eventful yet wonderful weekend! I hope everyone else did also. =)

shopping and showers

The weekend felt a lot longer than it truly was. I am realizing this now that I am back at work. Friday night, my mother and I took a trip to Hastings, mainly so I could use the wifi. My parents NEVER use the Internet so after I moved away to college, and with my sister never being home they decided to stop the service since it was never used. Katey and Casey met us at Hastings, and I was so excited to show Katey all the comments she got! My counter went up by 200, it was CRAZY! I am not sure if Katey is going to pursue any of the comments, but nevertheless it was fun and maybe just maybe she will go on a date or two.

I finally got my paycheck on Friday and the money was instantly burning a hole in my pocket. This whole getting paid once a month thing is not really my cup of tea. So Saturday, I cashed my check and took my self on a long-awaited, mini shopping spree. I found some good deals, and some not so good ones. My favorite purchase was a romper from Gap that was originally $60 and I got it for about $17. [I love finding good sales.] My second favorite was a cookbook! I have been eyeing this cookbook for a while so I decided to buy it for myself. It’s called The Students Cookbook, great grub for the hungry and the broke. I am positive it will be handy when I move into my apartment and the recipes sound delicious! I am ready to start experimenting.

My new cookbook!

Jackie’s wedding shower was on Sunday afternoon, which made it a great afternoon. It is so crazy to think that in two weeks she will be married and on her way to start a life in California. Jackie and I have become great friends over the past few years and I am so happy for her. Never in a million years would I have thought that she would be my first friend to get married, but now it just makes sense. Her fiancĂ©, Justin, is a Marine so they will be living in San Diego for at least three more years. Justin has also become a good friend and I am thankful he has arrived back in the U.S. safely! He has been in Japan since January. I was so thrilled I was asked to spend the big day with them. It is going to be a crazy/fabulous wedding especially knowing this wedding party and Jackie’s family. Ohhh! I can’t wait!

Me and the beautiful bride!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

take two

I have had this blog for almost two years now but you could never tell by looking at it. After I started it I was horrible about posting. It would be months sometimes before I would post something new. While I was looking at all my old blog post (mainly to pass time at work) the other day I came to the conclusion that it was just a bunch of random thoughts thrown into a big blogging mess! SO I have decided to make a promise to myself and all my readers (and future readers) that I am going to regularly update this thing from now on, and I will try not to do any random babbling. I guess you could say I am “starting over” with my blog.

A couple things first:

-Some of my older post were things I had to do for school, like all the Photoshop pictures, banners, etc. Last semester we had to post all our work to this blog, along with posting twice a week. I was still bad at it then. That’s why I was posting random photos and things if you were wondering.

- I am working on finding a new layout and everything for my blog too. So it will soon have a totally new face. =)

-The subject/reason/theme of this blog is for me to show you my journey through life. I am finishing my last year at Tech and then hopefully will be going to grad school and then off to the real world. So you can keep up with my adventures by reading!!!

I hope you come back to see what is going on with me! And if you have your own blog, post me the link so I can see what is going on in your world!

xoxo-

Show us Your Life- my friend Katey

I just started reading Kelly’s Korner Blog a couple weeks ago, and decided to participate in this week’s edition of “Show us Your Life.” She has made her own “match.com” for all the great singles out there that have bloggers trying to set them up. She asked her readers to sign up any single guys they knew that would be consider a “good catch” and she also allowed for single ladies to sign up too. I think this is so cool, and even if you don’t find a match you could still begin a new friendship.

I had two people in mind for this, but I knew one of them would be completely against the idea. But my amazing friend Katey agreed (after I begged) to let me post a little bit about her on here. She is a great girl and friend, and any guy would be more then lucky to take her out! With that said, here is more about Katey…

The beautiful Katey. =)

Katey is a senior Heath Information Management student at Arkansas Tech University. She plans on continue school to get her masters and either teach or work in electronic heath record sales.

She is 25 years old and grew up in Central Arkansas. Katey and I grew up in the same hometown, but since she was a few years older then me we weren’t really friends. Until, we ended up being neighbors in our apartment complex last year and even had a class together. Over the past year we have become more than good friends and she is just amazing!

Katey at the Jason Aldean Concert.

Katey is a down-to-earth, southern girl who can get along with everyone. Sometimes she will dress up for a night on the town, but most of the time she loves being in comfy clothes and outdoors doing things like going fishing, 4-wheeling, running, working out or playing on the lake. She loves going places whether it’s a two hour road trip or hopping on a plane to somewhere. If she had to pick the spot, it would either be the beach or snow skiing.

Katey and I in Mexico this past spring break.

In high school she a cheerleader and a softball and volleyball player. Even though she doesn’t play anymore, she still loves the sports and would be down for a game in the back yard. Football and baseball are her two favorite sports to watch. Although she is a Tech student, she is probably the biggest fan of the A-State Football team. It is a family thing.

Which brings me to another great thing about her, she LOVES spending time with her family. She was raised by a wonderful, loving and supportive family. She was very involved in her church growing up and still attends regularly. She has a big brother, and is an aunt to two beautiful girls who are a big part of her life. She will make a great wife and mother one day. And she can COOK! We would always plan to cook, which meant Katey cooked and I supervised, so trust me I know.

Getting kisses from her niece.

These are just a few of the things I can tell you about Katey. She is great and I would love for anyone to meet her! So leave me a comment and a way to contact you!
